Of all the things vying for my attention in the heart of Siem Reap, it was the beauty salons that caught my eye - tight spaces with a constant bustle that hung around them as I walked down Sok San road.
This project titled ‘Venus flytrap,’ is an observation of beauty and its lure. Documented against the background of the local parlours, it peers into our obsession with beautification within an urban space, and how it feeds into the curation of our identity and surroundings.
