Straddling the line between photography and collage, the photographs of Angele Stressend celebrate impermanence and liminality, the elusive fragile beauty of life.

The photographs of Angele Stressend do not tell a predefined story. They suggest, whisper, and leave room for both silence and the imagination.

Each image invites us to slow down and see things differently. A light, a texture, a detail, or a fragment of memory becomes the starting point for an inner journey. Through her photographs, Angele Stressend invites the viewer to look beyond the frame to elevate reality by revealing the beauty of ephemeral and fragile moments that often go unnoticed.

Combining digital and film photography, the photographs of Angele Stressend can be apprehended as visual poems that reflect on the fragility and beauty of nature as well as on the human condition, inviting the viewer to reflect on the Anthropocene.

To her, beauty lies in the unseen and in imperfection.

Angele Stressend is currently working on a project about erosion and she is also writing a book which will combine her photographs and her poems.
