Steine glitzern im Dunkeln

My project is about self-reflection. It’s about exploring my life circumstances. What defines me as a mother, a woman, and an artist? I’m having an inner dialog, want to see my situation more clearly. I pick out importantent insights.

My project is about self-reflection. It’s about exploring my life circumstances. What is my life like right now? What do I want to change in my life? What do I want to focus on more? In this part of the project, I’m focusing on myself. What defines me as a mother, a woman, and an artist?

I’m constantly having an inner dialogue and want to see my situation more clearly. I pick out important insights. By expressing my feelings and needs outwardly, the urgency of my own self-expression becomes increasingly clear. It becomes an obsession—a long-suppressed force. I want to live more and overthink less. It’s about liberation. Sometimes I feel like I’m on a roller coaster and I no longer know which way is up or down. Expressing my needs and facing my fears. I have the right to do so. I am allowed to free myself from old constraints and oppression. It takes inner discipline to return to a state of calm again and again. It’s a meditative state—constantly looking inward or tuning into my feelings. How can I doubt myself less? What can I let go of? What strength do I want to harness?

I work with double images and self-portraits. The effect of an image changes as soon as you superimpose another image on top of it. I find that an exciting approach. It gives you a different perspective on form, color, and mood. Depending on which image catches my eye today, maybe I’ll have a completely different perspective tomorrow.
