This work presents itself as a visual reflexion on the acceleration of time and the decay of idleness. It portrays a burned out society exploring tension between the urgency of contemporary life and the necessity of pause.

O tempo existe e é soberano, não pára nem espera por nada nem ninguém. É uma grandeza física mensurável à nossa escala e apenas isso. Mas nós, fizemos dele um deus e, tementes na nossa crença, agrilhoámo-lo.

Numa tentativa inglória de ganhar o ascendente nesta relação desigual, acelerámos o tempo de tal modo que nos obrigamos a consumir e processar experiências a grande velocidade, tornando tudo superficial, criando um atrito que acaba por nos desgastar.

Somos incapazes de nos desligar deste circuito porque temos medo de perder algo que nos possa passar ao lado. Tudo tem que estar disponível, a qualquer momento em qualquer lugar.

Time exists and is sovereign; it neither stops nor waits for anything or anyone. It is a physical quantity measurable at our scale, and nothing more. Yet we have made a god of it and, fearful in our devotion, we have shackled it.

In an inglorious attempt to gain the upper hand in this unequal relationship, we have accelerated time to such an extent that we compel ourselves to consume and process experiences at great speed, rendering everything superficial and creating friction that ultimately wears us down.

We are unable to disconnect from this circuit because we fear missing something that might pass us by. Everything has to be available, at any moment, anywhere.
