Moving Still is an ongoing photographic series exploring travel through landscapes, movement, and quiet pauses. Rather than documenting destinations, it reflects on the moments between them, where memory, observation, and presence quietly unfold.
Moving Still is an ongoing photographic series that explores the quiet moments found while travelling. Through landscapes, roads, water, and fleeting encounters, the project reflects on how movement shapes the way we experience both places and ourselves.
Rather than documenting destinations, I am drawn to the moments that exist between arrival and departure: a road disappearing into the distance, the stillness after a shared evening, someone crossing open water, or a child wandering freely across a landscape. These pauses often become the memories that remain long after the journey has ended.
The project grew from a desire to experience travel more attentively. Instead of collecting landmarks, I began photographing the unnoticed spaces that hold emotion and atmosphere. Each image becomes a moment of pause within continuous movement, inviting viewers to slow down and experience the rhythm of a journey beyond its destination.
For me, Moving Still is not simply about travelling through places, but about recognising how movement changes our relationship with the world around us. The photographs suggest that while we are always moving forward, the moments that truly stay with us are often the ones where we stopped to look.
