Hasta Finisterre

This project emerges from a walk along the Camino de Santiago, where the external journey unfolds into an inner one. Through landscapes, human figures and stillness, the work explores solitude, vulnerability and the Camino as a metaphor for becoming.

This photographic project emerged from a short but intense walk along the Camino de Santiago, where a physical route gradually unfolded into an inner passage. Undertaken without predetermined expectations, the journey shifted from movement to stillness, allowing time to slow and meaning to surface quietly.

Shaped from within the experience rather than from an external observational stance, the work reflects on the intersection between physical displacement and inner transformation. Landscapes and human figures are presented as spaces of silence and contemplation, where presence often reveals absence and solitude appears not as emptiness, but as density.

The images favour distance, open compositions and moments of pause, placing the human figure in dialogue with the surrounding landscape. Nature does not function as a backdrop, nor does the individual dominate the frame; instead, both coexist, suggesting a continuous exchange between the external world and internal states.

Rather than documenting a pilgrimage, the work reflects on walking as a condition of being. As the journey approaches its physical limit at Finisterre, the notion of an ending dissolves. While the land reaches its boundary, the human process remains ongoing.

The Camino emerges as a metaphor for life itself — a continuous process of becoming, marked by uncertainty, vulnerability and transformation. The viewer is invited to inhabit this journey, navigating between movement and stillness, presence and silence.
