I am obsessed with gaze. They saw me, they ignored or questioned me, or they had a notion about me. They became 'the other' compared to me, who makes me think about them and reflect myself through their look.

I am obsessed with gaze.
At the first stage, it scares me when people look directly at me when I photograph them, as if they're scanning me or rejecting my action toward them. But, eventually, a scare turns to an obsession; the more I try to capture their gaze (not only people but also animals and objects) by portraiting them in the photograph, the more I feel connected with them. Not only when the process was happening,
but also after that, when reviewing the photographs, the gaze directly to 'the 4th wall' expresses a hidden and vague conversation between the subjects and me, which may happen just in a fleeting moment.
I thought I was a dominant and powerful party when I held a camera. But they saw me, they ignored or questioned me, or they had a notion about me. They became 'the other' compared to me, who makes me think about them and reflect myself through their look. The subjects are an opposite force, making me feel like I am being watched; I am their subject.
