ESTRELA DO INDAIÁ is an essay with a working lady from the suburbs who has the dream, the desire to be photographed both in her hard work, as in her sensuality, religiosity and habitat.
She dreams of a better life, such as traveling by plane, of being seen in her authenticity, because her biggest dream is to have a medical surgery to eliminate the fat from her belly, which has increased after knowing that she has a serious illness, however without the less financial condition to do so.
In this essay, this woman shows her effort, her courage to show herself, unarmed by the aesthetic standards imposed by society and the media, but assuming her desire and dream to go beyond just working, eating, sleeping and dying.
Because the cruel and dominant reality of the political systems in which this people live, are slow to improve and are unlikely to achieve realistic solutions to inequalities by income class.
As the singer and composer Milton Nascimento used to say ” ... Of people who laugh things off when they are supposed to be crying and end up not living, just keep enduring…”
Beings who will not have the opportunity in life to improve their lot for themselves and their families.
From this viewpoint-- what are the perspectives of these groups in the face of capitalist domination that invaded the world, wars, oppressive political systems, conflicts, which increasingly expand and do not provide solutions for most of the population?
So, would these people see any difference, from yesterday to today and even tomorrow?
