Echoes of Ecuador

"Echoes of Ecuador" is an analog photo series captured in Quito in July and August 2026. Through colour and black-and-white images, it explores everyday street life, overlooked details, and cultural celebrations, preserving fragments of personal memories.

Echoes of Ecuador" is an analog photo series photographed in Quito in July and August 2026. Combining colour and black-and-white images, the series captures fragments of Ecuadorian life, from everyday scenes on the streets to cultural celebrations and the moments in between. Like echoes, these photographs carry traces of experiences past. Rather than telling a complete story of a place, they hold onto the feelings, details, and encounters that shaped my personal experience of Ecuador. Each image becomes a fragment of a memory, bringing together fleeting impressions of a place I encountered and continue to reflect on.

This series is shot on a Pentax Zoom 70-X. 

Anna Lena Raab is a german photographer currently based in Aarhus, Denmark. She works with both analog and digital photography, primarily focusing on street photography. Her practice centres on observing everyday life and finding meaning in ordinary moments, revealing the familiar from an unfamiliar angle.
