DEAR naozo,

Do you still hold on

That is what

I would ask

People

Seek results

Seek recognition

Seek certainty

And so

They fear

Letting go

Yet

Sometimes

I wonder

Whether what causes suffering

Is not uncertainty

But attachment

People

Make efforts

Think deeply

Continue resisting

That is not wrong

Yet

No matter how much

they give

Some things

cannot be reached

Some things

cannot be changed

Some things

cannot be chosen

In those moments

What is needed

Is not surrender

But trust

People

Do not trust

By doing nothing

They trust

After doing

all they can

So

Do not fear

Letting go

Do not grasp

the result

Do not imprison

the future

All you can do

Is keep walking

What lies beyond

Can be entrusted

to what lies beyond

I believe

People

Do not become strong

By holding on

They become strong

By knowing

when to let go
