A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day555【Trace】
DEAR naozo,
Will you look back
That is what
I would ask
People
Say to look forward
Say not to dwell
on the past
Say not to stop
Yet
Sometimes
I wonder
Whether looking back
Is not retreat
But recognition
People
Speak of the future
Speak of ideals
Speak of arrival
Yet
The place where you stand
Is built upon
Everything that came before
One step
Does not become a path
One day
Does not become a trace
Yet
Time spent walking
Leaves its mark
People
Are not proven
By their dreams
Nor by the words
they spoke
They are proven
By the traces
they leave behind
The painful days
The uncertain days
The days they almost gave up
Have not disappeared
All of them
Lead to who you are now
So
Do not fear
Looking back
Do not become
a prisoner of the past
But do not discard it
For there
Exists the proof
That you walked
I believe
A trace
Is not something
to boast about
It is something
That supports
The next step
What do you think
