A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day551【Aspiration】
DEAR naozo,
What do you aim for
That is what
I would ask
People
Have goals
Have ambitions
Have dreams
Yet
All of them
Can end
Once achieved
Once reached
Once obtained
Sometimes
I wonder
Whether what carries us far
Is not a goal
But aspiration
A goal
Has a destination
But aspiration
Has a direction
People
Can lose dreams
Lose plans
Even lose hope
Yet
As long as aspiration remains
They can walk again
Because aspiration
Is not a result
It is not success
Nor recognition
Nor praise
It is not about
What you accomplish
But about
The direction in which you live
Those who have seen the void
Know this
The world
Promises no meaning
And that is why
You must choose
What to believe
What to protect
What to pursue
I believe
Aspiration
Is not the possibility
Of achievement
It is the direction
You cannot abandon
People
Do not become greater
Through aspiration
They become steadier
Because of it
So
Do not ask
Whether you will reach it
Ask instead
Whether you still face
The same direction
For that
Is your aspiration
What do you think
