Preus Museum Open Call 2026

The prize recipient receives NOK 20,000, inclusion in the Preus Museum collection, and an exhibition at Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2026 in Norway.

Overview

The open call for Oslo Negativ 2026 explores the theme Passion as both creative force and emotional intensity. Preus Museum invites works that engage with this theme in its full complexity, ranging from love, devotion, and courage to excess, conflict, and polarization. The focus lies on visual approaches that translate subjective experience into broader reflections on how emotions shape perception and behavior.

Practical Info

The award is open to all artists, including individuals and collectives. Submissions may consist of single images or a series of up to 15 photographs accompanied by a project description. A submission fee of €10 applies, with exemptions available for students and Norwegian photographers.

The selected project receives a NOK 20,000 cash prize, acquisition into the Preus Museum collection, full production of the exhibition, and travel support to attend Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2026 in Oslo, Norway, held at the historic Old National Gallery.
