The PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant offers €10,000 in cash, plus two €2,500 MPB vouchers for the MPB Special Mentions, a solo show at PhMuseum Lab, screenings at PhotoVogue Festival, and more.

Overview

Now in its 10th edition, the PhMuseum Women Photographers Grant, aims to empower the work and careers of female and non-binary professionals of all ages and from all countries working in diverse areas of photography. It supports the growth of the new generations and promote stories narrated from a female perspective, while responding to the need to work for gender equality in the industry.

Practical Info

To participate, photographers are invited to submit one or more projects centered around a specific theme, narrative or concept. All approaches are welcome from classic to more experimental projects, and applicants can present more than one work. Each project should have between 5 and 20 photos.

The main grant recipients will share a total of €10,000 in cash. First place will receive €5,000, second place will receive €2,000, and third place will receive €1,000. Additionally, the New Generation category will be awarded €2,000.

Additionally, MPB, Europe’s top camera reseller and partner of this fifth edition, in collaboration with PhMuseum, will further select two projects for their Special Mention, granting a €2,500 voucher each to spend on used photo and video gear on mpb.com.

Among the prizes is also a solo exhibition at PhMuseum Lab in Bologna, Italy, in 2026, with travel, accommodation, and production costs included.

Plus, up to 40 shortlisted works will be screened at PhotoVogue Festival 2026, in Milan, Italy, while the Vogue Italia photography department, led by Alessia Glaviano will further select a work among all of the submissions for an online featured interview. PhMuseum's team will also select 9 photographers from all the applicants, who will be granted a 30-minute online portfolio review with a mentor of their choice from the PhMuseum Education program. Judges will also assign honorable mentions to highlight projects they highly took into consideration. Furthermore, a selection of projects will be featured in the third edition of PhMuseum's printed annual magazine, launching in Autumn 2027.

The jury is composed of Elisa Medde (Editor, Curator and Writer), Mariela Sancari (Photographer), Yagazie Emezi (Artist & Photojournalist), and Myriam Boulos (Photographer).
