Open Call Lighthouse 2022/2023

An opportunity for emerging photographers who want to engage in a program that offers support, inspiration, and valuable connections in the work field.

Overview

FOTODOK’s talent program Lighthouse offers emerging photographers the chance to develop a new project plan. To make that happen, they receive content-based, practical and financial support from a large group of experts from the field, the FOTODOK team, and each other for a period of six months. All participants receive feedback on their visual and text-based project proposals and get the possibility to pitch their projects to experts, funders and new collaborators.

Practical Info

The talent program looks for photographers who are motivated to make new work; have affinity with socially-engaged and urgent themes; are graduated as a visual maker in 2023 from a photography department or work as self-taught photographer with a professional practice of no more than 5 years.

Applicants should live in the Netherlands for the duration of the program. In order to apply, they should send a motivation (max. 1 A4 or a video of max 7 minutes), portfolio and CV latest 31 July 2023 at 23:59 to lisanne@fotodok.org.

About Fotodok

FOTODOK was founded in 2008 by Femke Lutgerink and Rob Hornstra. It began as a nomadic organisation, initiating events and exhibitions in collaboration with various partners. FOTODOK works with a large group of committed professionals from various fields, and a dedicated group of twenty volunteers. FOTODOK chooses an “umbrella” theme and keeps on researching, showcasing, and discussing the chosen topic throughout the year, seeking a long-lasting relationship with the topic, and multi-directional engagement with the subject matter.
