To empower the local artist community and discover new sides of Berlin, Fotografiska has launched a talent program – Emerging Berlin – where photographers at the early stage of their career are given the space to exhibit at their space.
Overview
Selected through an open call for proposals, the program will exhibit six artists per year in Fotografiska Berlin's graffiti hall. The exhibiting artists receive mentorship, press and media opportunities, and direct professional exchange with experts from the field. The program will also include workshops and portfolio reviews open to the public, to continue to support local talent.
Practical Info
Fotografiska is looking for authors who are telling a unique story about Berlin from a distinct point of view, with active participation in a Berlin community, sharing their mission in promoting and celebrating local artistry, with innovative approach to storytelling and showcasing relevant contemporary topics.
Applicants must be photographers at the early stage of their career. They must submit a photographic series on Berlin (unique stories about and by the city), including 15-20 images, plus a bio and a project/artist statement. Video works are welcome, but they have to be focused on photography.
