WHERE WE MEET

Zaza Horstmans is a multidisciplinary visual artist creating on unceded Gadigal land. Through photography and film, her work explores the relationship between the body, the dream state, and the natural environment. "Where We Meet" explores a woman's nexus with the natural world through a series of encounters between body and landscape. Shot along the coastline, the work considers the body not as separate from nature, but as another form within it. Rather than depicting nature as a backdrop, the photographs imagine it as another presence - A place to interact, wander, and immerse. A playdate between one particular being and one particular place.
