A glimpse of New York through its streets and subway—people waiting, passing, and sharing space. These candid photographs follow small gestures and fleeting expressions within the city's daily rhythm.

Sulyap means “glimpse” in Filipino. This series follows everyday life in New York, from subway carriages and platforms to busy intersections and neighborhood gathering places.

Photographed candidly with a Leica, these images bring together passing gestures, shared routines, and moments of connection or solitude: passengers absorbed in their own worlds, friends playing cards, people waiting in a salon, and workers keeping the streets moving.

I am drawn to expression and to moments that unfold without direction. Sulyap NYC begins and ends in the subway, tracing a journey through the city through the people who inhabit it.
