STARFISH HAVE FIVE ARMS AND RUN VERY FAST

Durante un viaggio in Sud America, a partire dall’incontro improvviso e fugace con un gruppo di stelle marine, scomparse il giorno successivo prende forma una riflessione personale sul tempo e sulla sua natura inafferrabile

During a trip to South America, one day I found starfish clinging to the rocks, so

many of them, more than I had ever seen before. I returned the following day,

but they were already gone. Starfish have five arms and move very fast.

I embarked on a journey that became, in reality, an exercise in adaptation,

where my sense of time and space merged with what surrounded me, and at the

same time an exercise in transfiguration, through which to create new,

unfamiliar spaces.

Starfish Have Five Arms and Run Very Fast is a personal reflection on time, on

the awareness of the impossibility of holding onto it or controlling it, of being out

of time. The project stems from my perception of being perpetually out of sync, a

“failure” that translates formally into strategies of expansion and contraction of

visual memory, through repetition and seriality, where micro and macrocosm

become sites of discovery, expansion, encounter, and resonance.
