Resistance explores what happens when resilience becomes a permanent condition of life. During wartime, the pressure to remain strong can become its own form of violence, leaving vulnerability as an act of resistance.

Resistance explores what happens when resilience stops being a temporary response to crisis and becomes a permanent condition of life.

During wartime, the demand to remain strong intensifies. Personal experience becomes increasingly difficult to separate from collective ideas of endurance, unity and acceptable vulnerability. Resilience becomes not only necessary for survival, but also a moral expectation.

Yet chronic resistance exhausts living matter. What initially protects us can gradually harden into an imposed armour: a structure that prevents collapse while also limiting the possibility of remaining sensitive, permeable and alive.

The project moves between the body, landscape, domestic space and symbolic images. Some photographs are observed, others are constructed. Together they form a fragmented visual field in which familiar systems of support — nature, faith, cultural symbols, strategies of control — appear unstable or insufficient.

Resistance is situated at the threshold between self-preservation and disintegration. It considers resistance not only as opposition to external circumstances, but also as resistance to one’s own forced transformation into an invulnerable being.

In a world that continuously demands heroism, the right not to be a hero can itself become an act of resistance: the right to preserve softness, vulnerability and the possibility of remaining alive.
