Permission

A collection through the female lens of Lauren Crooke, Perth nude photography artist, shot across Australia.

Permission began as a re-imagination through the female lens of renaissance imagery which depicted women as being boneless, submissive, and at the will of the men painted into the images. Lauren Crooke orchestrates mass group nude shoot for women and non-binary folk around Australia, the images empower viewers while inciting conversation and raising awareness about gendered sexual violence, oppression, and inequality, and encourages viewers to reflect on their feelings about the relationship between women and non-binary bodies and the concept of Permission.
