OREMUS - online/offline

"OREMUS online-offline" is a research of diverse photography techniques and experimentations, with studio constructions and tests of several light studies. Far from the speed and automation of automatic cameras and the elaboration that requires time, space and precision to be of the utmost quality.

I was born in Diamantina, Minas Gerais, Brazil and lived for many years in Stockholm and Brazil frequently in recent years.

My works reflect my cultural identity since my frequent travels between Brazil and Sweden has fostered in me a certain turning away from conventional artistic venues. Reversing the trend of mass consumption and far from social networks, I always question the culture of excess and its changing aesthetics in today's world.

I always use many ordinary objects in my works, such as domestic objects, and transforms them into creative representations of the female body and others significant approaches. This metaphorical use of everyday objects and ordinary situations to speak of important issues is a central point of my production which results often in studio constructions requiring scenario and illumination for a visual narrative.
