List of Sins is an ongoing body of work by Trent Munson that began under the Magnum Photos Mentorship Program with Gregory Halpern and Alessandra Sanguinetti. The project weaves together family archives and ongoing documentation of Trevor’s daughter as she grows up, drawing on photographs, home videos, documents, and domestic objects. At its center is the life and death of Munson’s brother Trevor, who died by suicide in 2014, and the question of what it means to continue living in the aftermath of that loss. These materials, both inherited and newly made, have been reworked into photographic series, audiovisual projections, and sculptural objects. The work unfolds against a particular American moment: the early 2010s teenager navigating the collision between suburban isolation and unprecedented digital connection, the opioid crisis, and the enduring mythology of the nuclear family. Trevor becomes a lens through which these converging forces.
