Kintsugi explores rupture made visible — where hijab meets heritage textile, and punk hardware meets red-thread scars. Nothing broken is hidden here; each mend becomes ornament, each contrast becomes identity.

In Japanese philosophy, kintsugi is the practice of repairing broken ceramics with gold, the fracture is not hidden, but illuminated, until damage itself becomes the most beautiful part of the object. This series treats identity and dress the same way.

Safety pins hold garments together in the open. A thread of red runs across denim and cotton like a wound left visible instead of stitched shut in secret. Skin is wrapped in tape, in beading, in netting, protective and decorative at once.

At the center of the frame, hijab and heritage textile sit alongside cat-eye sunglasses, raw denim, and punk-inspired silhouettes, two vocabularies that are rarely allowed to occupy the same body, here refusing to cancel each other out. Neither reads as costume; both read as identity.

Kintsugi is not about hiding what is broken, mismatched, or contradictory. It is about wearing all of it in the open, and calling that beauty.
