It is not difficult at all

Together with my father, we attempted to reconstruct selected objects from the book I'd like to tinker, and this process led to the extraction of images from my memory and further creation of new models - inspired by, yet not taken straight from the book.

‘’It is not difficult at all”, as a creative process, began with my return to a book by Adam Słodowy titled ‘’I like to tinker”, which had been popular in Poland from the 1960s to the 1980s. The title of my exhibition refers to the title of the first two editions of this book. However, it is not the book itself that is important, but the memories it evokes. I also worked with materials from my mother's old medical textbooks, which helped greatly with the process of regaining childhood memories. The feeling was all the stronger, as I had not experienced any of these memories in a very long time. Even though the child's lost quality of perception and distance in time made it difficult to reach those emotions, their blurred outline seemed to be hiding something important, yet not fully available to me. Together with my father, we attempted to reconstruct selected objects from the book, and this process led to the extraction of images from my memory and further creation of new models - inspired by, yet not taken straight from the book. Constructed models were strictly related to the sensations of specific experiences. As I worked, I noticed a growing tension between blurred imaginations and current, still fresh experiences. I tried to grasp the relationship between them by mixing loose connotations in the area of intuitive meanings. Further development of this creative process is an attempt to regain communication within one's own past.
