An art-documentary series exploring the complex reality of a mother raising twin daughters, while highlighting the silent longing of her eldest son under the unique chiaroscuro light of a conventional home.
This art-documentary series explores the complex and often sacrificial reality of motherhood, capturing a fragile period in the life of a family that suddenly welcomed twin daughters.
The project illustrates a new life marked by the unvarnished exhaustion of daily childcare. My lens captures the domestic choreography of a mother nursing one infant while simultaneously rocking the stroller of another with her foot, highlighting the heavy burden of daily routine that the woman bears alone.
A recurring motif throughout the series is the lace-like pattern of shadows falling over the children's bodies and the interior. This textured light elevates the mundane into something timeless, reminiscent of the chiaroscuro paintings of old masters. Beneath this artistic light, however, lies a subtle psychological tension: the silent longing of the eldest son, who watches from the shadows, searching for his mother's attention in a home where love must now be meticulously divided.
