‘Girovago sulla risacca cercandoti’ (‘I wander on the backwash looking for you’) is the story of a dreamlike wandering. It is the result of personal experiences (carried out during my studies at ECAL as my diploma work) involving an edition and three sculptures in plexiglass.

‘Girovago sulla risacca cercandoti’ brings together several symbols that have become obsessive for me over the last few years, which evolve in a back and forth fashion, like an emotional backwash. It stems from several trips to Italian areas, moments in suspension and life saving apneas. It was always a constant physical and mental back and forth where the notion of memory was involved. 

Water serves as a temporal bridge to the projections created by absence of a loved one and a ‘creatura-musa’ guides us through this world of dreams. 

The edition translates the ambivalent and fluctuating sensations of this wandering, so we are dealing with this ‘creatura-musa’ whose image remains rather vaporous, like a chimera, mirroring a flow of emotions that clash but also intermingle. 

The ‘image-collage-sculptures', evoking the different layers of time and emotion, put in tension this desire to recreate amalgams to fill a void. The iconography is more fixed, it’s a kind of sacralisation of the figure of the muse.
