“ANA” is my first name, the one that is never used to name me. Last year, I left my home city. I also left my parents’ home. The migration became a stopover. The destination became vague. I started to be in transit.

“ANA” is my first name, the one that is never used to name me. Last year, I left my home city. I also left my parents’ home. The migration became a stopover. The destination became vague. I started to be in transit.

This project is a document and a part of that process. In it, the photography makes visible what has up to now been hidden, it blurs the coordinates, suspends the accelerated time of the traveller. The transit is put in pause and is accelerated in the shot, it takes up the rhythm of the act that documents it.

In transit, we move towards the future with the body and to the past with the mind. The landscape repeats itself, the window becomes a mirror of the darkness. We become suspended in a present time that accumulates upon itself. We are alone and destitute, off the map.

“ANA” is an imaginary cartography of my transit. A drawing that charts lines not between geographic coordinates, but between sensations and atmospheres I traverse as a perpetual foreigner
