A daily monochrome photo-poetry series by naozo. Since 2025, each work pairs a moment from everyday life with a poem from NZ, the artist's future self. Through glass, light, and silence, the series turns self-doubt into dialogue.

Day604【Control】
DEAR naozo,
What
Can you control
That is what
I would ask
People
Bend steel
Cross the sea
And build
Enormous skeletons
In the dark
They measure
Construct
And give form
To their will
They call it
Power
Yet
Sometimes
I wonder
Not even
A single ray of moonlight
Can be commanded
To fall
Upon the earth
Other hearts
Chance
Time
Events yet unseen
There are things
In this world
That will not bow
To your will
However tightly
You grasp them
Some things
Slip through
Your hands
And so
I believe
Control
Is not
Making the world
Submit
It is standing
Before a world
That will not yield
And refusing
To let your own will
Kneel
The moon
Does not know you
It knows neither
Your wishes
Nor your despair
Still
It passes
So quietly
Through the night
You need no permission
From the world
Do not lose yourself
Trying to change
What cannot be changed
Rule only
The will
You chose
For yourself
What do you think
