Raccont’Arti: Contemporary Photography Award 2026

Selected photographers and visual artists will be awarded €3,000 (Open) and €500 (Student) for their projects responding to the theme Beyond The Visible: The Image Of Absence.

Overview

Raccont’arti explores the state of contemporary photography through an annual theme. The 2026 edition, Beyond The Visible: The Image Of Absence, invites artists to reflect on absence not as emptiness, but as a layered condition shaped by space, time, and perception. The prize encourages works that engage with what remains, what is implied, and what is no longer visible, treating the image as a site of traces and relationships rather than representation alone.

The call is divided into two categories: Open and Student, bringing together emerging and established voices within a shared exhibition context.

Practical Info

The Open Category is open to photographers and visual artists worldwide, with no restrictions on age, nationality, or professional background. The Student Category is reserved for artists enrolled in art schools, academies, or universities, as well as recent graduates within the past year.

Applicants must submit a single project of 10 to 30 images. The Open prize recipient receives €3,000 in cash, and the work may additionally be acquired by Ente Cambiano and Banca Cambiano 1884. The Student prize recipient receives €500. In both categories, the main recipient and four finalists will be selected for a group exhibition at CAMBIO Cultural Centre in Castelfiorentino.

The jury is composed of Vittore Buzzi, Michele Palazzi, Chiara Ruberti, Tommaso Parrillo, Franco Spina, and Francesca Catastini.
