Passepartout is open to both professional and amateur photographers from all nationalities, gender and age.
Overview
Passepartout aims to support the development of talented photographers from all over the world by creating opportunities for worldwide exposure. Passepartout awards €500 in a monetary prize to a winner of each edition, exhibition participation in a fine art gallery in Rome (Italy), and publication in their partners’ magazines for selected outstanding photographers.
Practical Info
Applicants can submit up to three images. Photographic works of any kind of artistic style, size and technique (digital, film and experimental processes) are accepted. Projects using AI-generated images as a part of the photographic process are accepted too but the participant has to mention it in the submission form.
One winner will be awarded €500 in cash, participation in the annual exhibition, special features and additional exposure opportunities to promote their works worldwide. The 7th edition also includes a sponsored prize such as the CSF Adams Prize– awarded by CSF AdamsPhotography School with an invitation to a photography workshop and portfolio review.
Best artists from the 7th and 8th editions of Passepartout will be awarded participation in the Passepartout annual exhibition, special features and additional exposure opportunities. The annual exhibition will take place at 28 Piazza di Pietra Fine Art Gallery in Rome, Italy, in autumn 2025. The collective showcase features the selected works of the Passepartout Photo Prize winners and Exhibition Prize winners.
The jury is composed by Olmo Amato (Artistic Director), Roberta Fuorvia (Curator), Francesca Anfosso (Gallerist), Francesco Rombaldi (Art Director and Curator), Parisa Aminolahi (Photographer), Luisa Briganti (Photography Teacher), Marco Spatuzza (Post-producer and Fine Arts Printer) and Krista Svalbonas (Photographer).
About Passepartout Photo Prize
Passepartout Photo Prize (“Passepartout”) was initiated by Il Varco srls in 2020 as a photography contest to promote and widen the exposure of emerging photographers.
